EquityRail ("EquityRail," "we," "us") operates the website equityrail.com. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We have written it in plain language on purpose.
The short version: we collect only what you type into our forms, we use it to respond to you and process your equity inquiry, we never sell it, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.
Information we collect
Information you provide
- Equity application form: your name, email address, phone number (optional), property address, estimated property value, existing mortgage and lien balances, self-reported credit score range, annual household income, intended use of funds, and — if you select an offer — which funding bank you selected.
- Contact form: your name, email address, and the message you send us.
Information we do not collect
- We do not collect Social Security numbers.
- We do not obtain credit reports or credit scores from any credit bureau at the time you submit the form. Your credit range is self-reported. The soft-inquiry authorization you provide is collected for use only when a participating funding bank later processes your application, and any such inquiry would be a soft inquiry that does not affect your credit score.
- We do not use advertising trackers, analytics cookies, or sell data to advertisers.
Technical information
- Our hosting provider (Netlify) automatically records standard server logs, such as IP address and pages requested, for security and reliability.
- Fonts are delivered by Google Fonts, which may log your IP address when your browser requests font files.
- The interactive product demonstration on this site stores sample data in your own browser's local storage. That data never leaves your device and can be cleared through your browser settings.
How we use your information
- To respond to your inquiry and follow up on your equity application.
- To connect you with the participating funding bank you select, when that program is available to you.
- To operate, secure, and improve the website.
- To comply with legal obligations.
How your information is shared
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with:
- Service providers that process it on our behalf: Formspree, Inc. (form processing and delivery) and Netlify, Inc. (website hosting).
- A participating funding bank, if and when you choose to continue an application with that institution.
- Legal authorities, if required by law or to protect our rights or the safety of others.
Data retention
We keep the information you submit only as long as reasonably needed to respond to you, process your inquiry, and maintain business records — and no longer. Application and contact submissions are reviewed and then retained or deleted based on whether an active inquiry is in progress. You may request deletion of your information at any time (see below), and we will honor the request unless we are legally required to retain it.
Your choices and rights
- You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- You may ask us to correct or delete your information.
- To make any of these requests, reach us through our contact page. We will respond within 30 days.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws (for example, California residents' rights under the CCPA/CalOPPA). We honor deletion and access requests from all visitors regardless of state.
Security
The site is served entirely over HTTPS (TLS). Form submissions are transmitted encrypted to our form processor. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we limit what we collect in the first place — the best protection for data is not holding it.
Children
This site is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from minors.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the effective date above. Material changes will be noted on this page.
